International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) has positive plans for setting up an excellent format and platform to showcase hydrofoil kite racing in the Olympics. True, before visiting and experiencing some awesome moments of kiteboarding in Bali, I also asked myself those questions. Now, questions create intrigue. That’s why I did some digging, visited the place myself and here I am, giving you a lot of reasons to enjoy Bali as a kitesurfing destination.

1. Sanur Beach

A sparklingly large shallow water area, Sanur beach happens to be one of the best places to learn kiteboarding. Even for professionals, this place has always been a joy ride. You can find kite schools as well who can gear you up for the sport. These kiteboarding schools do cater to kiteboarders of all skill levels, so even if you are there for a family event, your entire family will get to enjoy the sport too!

Sanur beach does have quite a bit of interesting locations for you to chill and relax in a relatively quiet place too, so do some research before you head over to Sanur beach!

2. Canggu Beach

A huge beach, filled with reefs, this place needs tactics when it comes to kitesurfing. Experienced riders love this spot where they get to experiment with all their stunning tricks, in the thrilling beach conditions as the wind speeds can go up to 15.  There are indeed more than 10 kiteboarding schools in Canggu beach itself, so you are literally spoilt for choice.

While Canggu beach is more suited for experienced kiteboarders, there is nothing stopping the regular sports enthusiast to enjoy the sport there. With a nice beach front, you have to be aware that there might be spotters spotting the tricks that you do in the sea!

3. Seminyak Beach

The central area in Bali, this beach has a good line of resorts along with kitesurfing activities. Apart from the wind speeds of up to 15, you can have big waves coming in too. Remember to bring along cameras such as the Soloshot3 to film yourself doing the feats.

Along the beach, you can find nice places such as the Potato Club beach, which is peppers with many tourist having a good time chilling in the area.

Some Kitesurfing Events To Look Forward In 2018 In Bali

1. Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang 2018: This event is one of the largest annual cups in Bali, celebrating fine talent. Tentative months are July or August, inviting the best surfers to show their talent on the waves of Padang Padang, close to Uluwatu.
2. Volcom Stone Totally Crustaceous Tour: Contestants for this event are shortlisted in April and tentative dates for the final show would be in August. While the crowd gets the treat on beaches of Kuta, the kiteboarders get to compete for a spot in the Indonesian TCT Finals.
3. Quiksilver Uluwatu Challenge 2018: Any day around the Indonesian Independence Day (17^th August) is reserved for this event, where kiteboarders race and create awareness for cleaner and safer beaches for the public as well.
